We have been here before, but never the less, I think it deserve another blog posts. Here is what our book ‘ Tired of London, tired of life’ by Tom Jones write about the cafe’ at the museum Victoria & Albert:
“Eat at the Worlds first museum cafe’.
Deep within the corridors of the Victoria & Albert Museum, Gamble and Poynter Refreshment rooms are a great place to rest the legs, after seeing an exhibition. They are an original part of the museum building, having opened in 1857 as the first museum restaurant in the world. Decorated in a very grand Arts and Crafts style they still house a cafe’ serving a range of different dishes and drinks On weekends there is even a live pianist to entertain visitors.” Address: Cromwell Street, South Kensington.
In the summer time the Garden cafe’ is open as well, and that is where we went. The museum is definitely worth visiting again, if you have been there before, we certainly will!
